Given the kerfuffle in the US over Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell’s ad, and what with Halloween coming up and all, I want to state, categorically that:
I am not a witch, I am not “you” and some of what you’ve heard about me may be true!
Happily the voters out there want to talk about my past performance on the School Board and how to improve kids’ education, rather than to delve into my personal past – although I’m pleased to disclose I’ve never dabbled in the black Arts.
As the forums approach, I am busy doing my homework on issues of concern to stakeholders. While I realize I am NOT you, I do want to know what your ideas about teaching and learning in Canadian Rockies Public Schools. Contact me through email esmecomfort(at)gmail.com, or find me in the local phone book.
It’s all politics, all the time at the moment. I am as content as I can be – everywhere I go, thanks to those little pink signs in my car, folks want to talk about education, kids, community, democracy. My idea of heaven. I’ve been presented with some thought-provoking suggestions, corrected some misinformation, established some new relationships and learned a great deal. It’s made me very hopeful for the future. I can’t wait to see if the voter turnout reflects the heightened awareness and interest in local democracies.
Hurray for elections!
